Boca de Tucue
Boca de Tucue is an agricultural community located in the north-east corner of Cocle Province. It is north of a town called Toabre over the Continental Divide.
Boca de Tucue es una comunidad dedicada a la agricultura. Está ubicada al noreste de la provincia de Coclé, específicamente, al norte del pueblo llamado Toabre al otro lado de la Cordillera.
The road to Boca de Tucue is beautiful with lots of trees and birds. There are several areas where you can spot various species of birds including oropendulas and toucans right next to the road.
La vista desde la carretera que lleva a Boca de Tucue es hermosa con muchos árboles y aves. Hay varias áreas donde se puede ver variadas especies de aves como los oropéndulas y tucanes a lo largo de la carretera.
The landscape is also beautiful, even when raining. There are lots of these little peaks that jut up out of the hills.
Las vistas también son hermosas, aún cuando llueve. Los cerros sobresalen entre las lomas del lugar…. .
The road has greatly improved and it only gets better the higher up you climb. This bus makes it down the worst part of the road without any problems. These big buses drive clear to the end of the road at the mouth of the river Tucue.
La carretera ha mejorado significamente y continua mejorando conforme se avanza en la travesía. Este autobus, baja la peor parte de la carretera sin problemas. Estos buses grandes siguen hasta donde termina la carretera en la Boca de Tucue.
The school of Boca de Tucue is not very big but it is a big part of community life. It serves as a meeting place, as many residents live very far apart & children have to travel up to an hour to reach the school.
La escuela de Boca de Tucue no es muy grande, pero es una parte muy importante en la vida de la communidad. La escuela sirve como una área de encuentro. Muchos de los residentes viven lejos y los estudiantes caminan por horas para poder llegar a la escuela.
The road ends abruptly at the river Tucue where it opens into the river Toabre. The river crossing is tricky, these horses plunged into some deep holes on their way across.
La carretera termina abruptamente en el río Tucue donde se une al río Toabre. El cruce del río es engañoso, los caballos que se muestran en la foto, calleron en unos huecos ondos en su cruzada.
This young girl studies the rocks just below the surface to make sure she doesn’t end up falling into the holes. She takes her time, because not only does she not want to get wet, but she could easily twist her ankle or break a leg.
Esta joven estudia la piedras bajo la superficie del río, para asegurarse de no caerse en un hueco. Ella toma su tiempo, no solo por el deseo de no mojarse, sino porque ella podria facilmente lastimarse la rodilla, o quebrase un hueso.

Looking up at the Toabre where it is still just a small river, but eventually flows into the river Cocle and then into the Atlantic ocean. On the right you can see where the Tucue river opens into the Toabre.
Mirando al río Toabre cuando todavía es un río pequeño. Eventualmente, éste se une con el Río Coclé y después al Océano Atlántico. A la derecha se puede ver el Río Tucue uniéndose al Río Toabre.
Looking downstream, the Toabre river is navigable from this point on. The Toabre river flows north towards the Atlantic, this is how we can tell we are on the other side of the Continental Divide.
Desde este punto, el Río Toabre es navegable. El Rïo Toabre fluye hacia al norte hacia el Atlántico; Esta es la manera como podemos verificar que estamos en el otro lado de la Cordillera.
